I know what Duke did isn't right, but a six month ban is a little harsh. Plus Agh also did something and we would have to punish him too, to make it far. They both should get some sort of punishment, but ban should only be done for a major wrong doing. It shouldn't be to light, but not that harsh either. We should think of something else in my opinion.

I don't think a ban of that length is called for. He will most likley go away anyway. Just remember in some of what was done AAAGGHH was involved too. At the least AAAGGHH should be warned of his missdeed.

Besides if Duke is the kind of guy he seems he will hang himself quickly.

Allright, I would then suggest Duke be given a choice: Either issue a public apology to everyone for his behavior in general and specifically to Shortie for the cheating accusation or be banned.

In any case, his clan recruit status should be revoked.

Especially duke. Duke sounds like a trouble maker and is by no means anywhere near DOU material as far as maturity goes.

maybe we should share admin responsibilities. Tommy has done an outstanding job, but cant be around 24/7. no on can.

maybe if we appoint sub admins that can kick out players that taunt or harras might fix the problem in the future.

Well, it looks like my sponsorship brought something to a head! In my dealings with him, Duke has been only pleasant and courteous, but I don't have the history with him that you guys have. I agree that the DOU servers are great places to play and I believe are highly regarded not only by us but by players who visit. The quality of individuals in the clan is what drew me here in the first place, and I certainly don't want that to change.

It looks to me like you have enough experience with Duke to suggest that he would not be a good addition. I certainly would not trade Shortie for Duke!

In the exchange with Arggh... I agree with Moon, though. It appears Arg started it and Duke's response was indignant and angry. He just needs the maturity to handle it better, and to know that a public server (a DOU public server) is no place for that kind of talk.

Interestingly, I have not seen Duke playing in the last few days. In any case, use your best judgment here. It sounds like at the very least, Duke needs a considerably longer trial period than most, and that it should not be while wearing the dou-r tag.

Yeah, with regard to the server, agh did start it, so it might be a bad idea to ban duke over it.

as a message poping up makes you wonder how it was done in the first place but was it offensive??? NO... Was Duke in the wrong for not apologizing for his Obscene messages??? YES... What he decided was to argue about what REALLY HAPPENED was he was PUSHED by a admin command something like >PUSH USER SAY "BAD THINGS", but in the WOS's Server Logs there were no admin push commands at that time...

and I asked hime to watch the language and he told me that it was OK by Tommy just ask him....

Oh, another thing... is it a good thing if you make all of your player skins pure white when they should be the normal colors when they are frist made??? Imagine you are sitting under a stairwell and it's all dark when you see a guy run across to have him Frag you before you could blink???

Well this Duke character made a PAK for Quake2 that changes all of the normal skins to all white!!! why would you change an artists picture when you only see one color??? I expressed my feelings about that some time ago and have accused that as cheating...

If there's one thing I'd admire is RESPECT... (not the song) the Idea...

I've got an idea... I'm not too sure about it but can we take his gun away??? like he would be shooting blanks on the server while he would be up the creek without a paddle??? Like a roasting??? like he'll be able to play on the servers but without a gun???

Just keep in mind that even though we know he is not a full member, he is wearing our tag and the perception in the community will be theat he is DOU.

As for waiting for a vote, it will only take one more yes vote than no vote and he is DOU. Pulling his recuite status could be put to a pole vote if we are undecided on what to do with him.

It is up to us. We will have to live with whatever the outcome becomes. I know that everyone is wanting Tommy to make a decision and that is not fair to Tommy. We are a family, a good family and need to decide things as one.

As for me when I am in game and duke comes in I leave. I will not give him even the respect of playing with him.

Yes, we need to deal with this. It's been a very hectic week for me so I haven't even thought of it.

But let me address the no thing. It's not just a matter of the yes's beating the no's. If we have no votes we will address the no votes first and fully discuss the problem. The point is that we will try to come to some sort of resolution before we go forward with the recruit (or bail on him / her). We want everyone to be happy. But then again, yes, if the over-whelming majority of members want the person in and we feel that the we have dealt with the no people fairly, then the majority vote will kick in. This can happen the other way around too, when a few yes voters are beaten out by no voters.

But all people will be heard and considered. There is never a hurry to just usher someone in or out based on what a few people want.
