Tommy, Shortie and myself had a discussion about what to do about this and here is what we came up with:

In order for DUKE to continue his recruitment:

1) Send a PM to Shorty and apologize to her personally.

2) Post an apology to the clan on the General Forum.

3) Once #1 & #2 are completed, his recruitment period will restart from that day.

Shortie is cool with this and so am I. From what I've heard, he has otherwise been a decent and courteous player.

So if he agrees to make the apologies, call it a learning experience for him and we'll see how his next 3 weeks go.

I agree with Xerxes. I haveno direct problem with him to report but, even if I don't know exactly what happened with Shortie, I don't admit it could happen !

Subject: Recruitment problem

Hello Duke,

There has been an incident that has been discussed by clan members about something that was said by you to another member sometime around Thanksgiving, give or take a few days.

It has been reported that you accused Shortie of cheating on one of our servers. This kind of behavior is not tolerated on any of our servers. Shortie was upset to the point of having to be persuaded to come back and play.

There was much discussion and quite a few of the clan members are also upset about this. There was alot of discussion as to what to do about it.

It was decided that if you wish to still be a member of DOU, you will need to do the following:

1) Send a PM to Shorty and apologize to her personally.

2) Post an apology to the clan on the General Forum.

3) Once #1 & #2 are completed, your recruitment period will restart from that day.

Please keep in mind that there will still be a vote to bring you into the clan and your apologies together with your participation and good sportsmans

A SERVER LOG THAT SHOWS THAT DUKE CALLED SHORTIE A CHEAT!!!

Well it seems poor DUKE doesn't wanna apologize to anyone for his actions(seems familiar) and he wants proof against him and willing to pay $20,000.00 for it???

Duke sent me a reply to the accusation last night or this morning and he never indicated that he wanted his name pulled from the forum.

However, seeing that he thinks of us as "fags" in addition to his other foul-mouthed exchange that was posted with Aaaaagh it is my opinion that we grant him his wish. He clearly has shown his lack of maturity in dealing with a problem. I definitely wouldn't be comfortable with him wearing our tag on other servers and I'm sure he would eventually end up giving us a bad name somewhere.

Everyone please feel free to add your opinions on the matter.

You see that I didn't get nasty with him over this at all and he could've acted like an adult in dealing with this situation. He was given another chance and IMO he trashed it.

I have to agree with Xerxes. He will not add any positive value to our clan, but be a huge liability to our good reputation in the community.

Well, this got ugly quick. His first mistake was not keeping his mouth shut. He needed to reply to Xerxes and wait and talk it out with him, not go around talking to other people immediately.

Well, I tried to play diplomat, but as you guys may recall from my first post about the guy, I figured this was going to happen. He is too impulsive and a hot-head. What I especialy dis-liked was:

If he wants nothing to do with us, then I guess thats all there is to it. There are plenty of other sniper servers out there. It's a form of passive-aggression, we're supposed to run to him now and say "sorry, please don't go, it was a big mis-understanding." Be a cold day in hell before that happens.

Exactly...

I hope that he will get better with time but with the DOU reputation in his hands acting the way he does??? well I personally feel bad about the whole thing...

I don't think we ever had this much trouble voting in a member before... but who would vote him in???

I think we all got it. As it happened on our server, AAAGGHHH needs to be talked to also. I see there is history between them but we cannot allow it to flow onto our server from either side. I hope what AAGGGHH said about our server not wanting to be played on is not true. I don't play Q2 so I would not know how the traffic is. I will add it to my favorites just to help watch traffic.

WE do need to have a talk with AAAGGHHH!!
