I am think of somethng new for the recruitment process. How does this sound?
When someone asks for membership we ask them to come to Ventrilo and I am the recruitment officers and sponsor will have a chat with the individual. We can talk to them and see what they are all about, explain the recruitment process to them, make sure they understand the clan and server(s) rules, and field any questions they may have.
If the person is on dial-up or doesn't have a headset I guess we could do the same thing in a group chat on MSN or similar.
If this sounds like a good idea to the rest of you, we could figure out a game plan and then set it in motion. We would need to write up something so we have a guide when talking to the person. But of course when we did it, we would make it sould a bit less formal to keep them at ease. This way we can take care of business while at the same time get a heads up to any potential chains or chef geeks or turkeys or razors who are trying to join up.
What say all of you?
Btw, The list of people who would attend that I suggested above is just those who i think ought to be there. I see no reason why any clan member who wants to be there shouldn't, it's everybody's clan after all, it would be good to see a bit of participation in the recruitment process from the members-at-large.

Why not? It should be like interviewing for a job. Screen out all the one night stands.

Yup, lets give this thing a try and see how it goes. If it proves to be a good thing, great. If not we will be no worse off for the effort.
