As for this moment the recruits are doing fine. They are around on the server and have been spoken to on ventrilo. The participation on the forum however is not enough at this time, almost near to zero, and it has my concerns. Remember that playing on the server and getting in to ventrilo reaches just a small amount of members at a certain period of time. The forum on the other hand is a patient medium and will alow more members to get to know the recruit. That will be important when the voting of the recruit is at hand. If not enough members had the chance of getting to know the particular recruit the outcome could be that the aspirant member will not have enough votes to become a full member and the recruitmentship will be prolonged or the recruit could even be rejected.
The recruit has to advertise himself !!!!
By doing so he will say: “look I do fit in the DOU community, I am DOU material”.
* Please let them feel free to post on the forum anytime, it gives the other members a chance to get to know the recruit.
* It is a good thing for all members to know the recruits and their interests...
* Let them create their own posts or let them comment on posts that already excists.

I wholeheartedly agree Nat BUT...
Turn off your permissions sometime and look what threads these guys have to comment on. I'm guessing the most active threads available to these guys is the one with the jokes. Having said that, I'm not going to learn a lot about a recruit by them typing "LOL". I can't blame their lack of participation too much on items, for the most part, that offer no real subject matter.
They obviously don't have access to our most participated forum IMO ,Security. 4 pages for Hosni Mubarak? Come on.
They've all done their intros on the forum when they started to wear the tag. Most importantly IMO, THEIR ON VENT. I still think that's the best way to truly get to know them. Hell, even Connor McCleod is on vent quite a bit now. I don't understand him too much but he makes the effort all the same.

Recruits also need to be reminded or made aware there are many DOU servers available to them and if they have UT2k4 to get their butts into the freezetag Sat & Sun mornings.
