I've never heard of him. According to GameTracker he's on the server since January 28th. I don't want to reject him rightaway. Anyone who has played against him or had contact with this one?

Hello iSudo,
I've received the Application Form in good order. Thanks for showing
interest in joining our clan. May I ask why you want to join the clan?
Dont believe hes been around long enough. A hand full of days? Needs to hang around longer imo.
Word
Don't we have some kind of minimum time played requirement or something?
I have played with him a few times in the past few days. He is respectful of the server rules, a little green in my opinion, but I think there is potential if he hangs around for a few more weeks.
We really should outline some minimum requirements though. I'd be more than happy to draft some and submit to the recruitment team for approval if you guys would like.
We have some somewhere. As in minimum time.
Well, if he plays by the rules and will post on the forum and talk to us on TS3 the 90 days recruitment process will sort out anything bad. We've had several recruits in the recent past that were years as guests on the server and still turned out not to fit in as a member. A minium playing time still gives no guarantee with any recruit.
There are always other clans on the look-out to catch any recruit. I can understand the thoughts of a minium playing time, but like I said it's still no guarantee and we might miss some great recruits. Let the 90days recruitment period sort things out. Afterall that's why we have it.
He was on TS last night and played a fun rumble with us against OMA, they were supposed to have a match with someone else but it fell through, Mamahawk came in and asked if we would play for a couple of matches, we were out numbered for most of the time 7-4 but still did well.
Getting back to iSoudo, he seems to be a good guy, and the other reason for accepting would be we will most likely lose him to another clan if we wait.

His reply:

I've checked with the clan and it seems that you've already played a team match with some of our members and had a chat with them on Teamspeak. Please sign in on our forum and I will PM you further details about the Clan DOU recruitment procedure.
Go to www.clandou.com and create an account !
He has created an account on the forum. I've put him 'On Hold' on the recruitment list.
Is there someone at the moment available to sponsor him?
Personally, I think we should wait longer before asking people to join the clan.
We have had several that disappear shortly after applying to join. Some disappear in the middle of their recruit period. Still others fade away right after getting their tag. Seems like a lot of work for us all to do for nothing.
I think we should wait at least 60 days after someone starts hanging around before we ask them to join for the following reasons ...
a) We don't seem desparate
b) We see they have more than a passing interest in the game and us
c) We find out if they are psychotic before asking them to join (as opposed to after)
d) We don't waste so much time following their activities on the forum and the server only to have them disappear

Well said mama, i was telling Grubb that very complaint the other night on TS. Recruitment should not be as easy as filling out an app but should be considered a privilege to be a member.
Well, actually I dont agree with the 60 days, before recruiting. The whole idea behind the recruiting proces is there to see if someone fits to the clan. We can sort that out in the 90 days recruitment period and it worked out well lately with some recruits that weren’t such a good fit.
Same goes for iSudo. We got to remember that this game is dying out on us and there are other clans on the hunt for recruits also to keep their clan alive and active. I know I lost some recruits to other clan because I waited to long. 90 days as a trial for the membership is just fine and it’s how it’s suposed to be. There will always be players who give up along the way. Nothing we can do about that. It’s like they say ‘all in the game’. 🙂
60 days, 30 days, 2 weeks or less?
Each of these periods above can be good. It depends only on who is a potential recruit? Who took the initiative to join the clan - he/she or we?
If is he/she well known person, we can shorten the waiting period, especially when he/she is active on the forum or TS.
But if that person is just starting to play on our server, we should watch him/her for some time.
In both cases we need to recognize the real intents, which induce him/her to join the clan. Maybe he/she does not know why?
We don't forget, that our clan is not a shooting club.
Many nice people play often on the server and they are not interested in joining the clan (e.g. timmo, Dr. Boom et al.).
You remember those cases: Tanequil aka Yulian - good camper, SOC - nice camper and some more, but I don't want to list them
