A valid point has been made by Bison and Chicken:
"Just to play devil's advocate (devil being Bison. haha) I think his point of view is that he would like to recruit members that will be active somewhat regularly as opposed to a clan full of people that are nice, but too busy to play very much. That's what I think he is trying to convey. I could be wrong." posted by Chicken.
I have to agree with them, there are people in DOU that I have never met.
Perhaps we need to have a specific period of inactivity for members then we drop them. I know other clans do this Team LOL for one.

I agree (scary 8) )
Yep me too.
It's already in the rules, and is set to 6 months. If someone want's to revist this and discusss a different (I am assuming shorter) time period, then by all means do so.

Not everyone came into the clan at the same time, so it may not be easy to know another persons level of clan participation. I am the only person who was here from the very beginning so I do know (for the most part) who is around and who isn't. The very first member voted into DOU was {DOU}Tink. Of all of us, probably the only people who know of him are people like X7 and Maddog. He went idle, and after a 6 month period he was removed from the roster and is no longer a member.
But here are some better examples. Rosco is one. A lot of you newer members don't know him well if at all. But when he applied for membership he had been a long time player and was around all the time. So voting him in was a no-brainer, good player, around all the time, and a great guy to boot. But then life hapened and he isn't around so much anymore. He did say that he wouldn't be around for a bit and that he did plan to re-emerge at some point. We'll have to wait and see. Another example is Gees_Nuts. He was around all the time too and then life happened by way of his dad dropping the school hammer down on him. I am sure it would appear to some of the newer members that he has never been around. Should we just toss him or give him a little time to get his house in order?
But I do agree on the other hand that enough time is enough time and that sometime we will have to conclude that the other person has just moved on.

If they have communicated with us I say no Problem in letting them hang.
