If you have any suggestions on new recruits then we need somewhere current to add them and discuss them, list anyone who may be interested or who you think are viable candidates for our clan bearing in mind we can't be too fussy here.

IMO, there are other more hopeful players, like Bachus, ()mG.cK or even M@ngler.
Shinigami and Sweetkiller, I thought, were playing without any tags, but I see now that he's LST or some such and she's CON. I don't get why so many of these people are on our server more than any others and we can't recruit them.... then they wind up elsewhere. Is it time to start handing out free alcohol and Pop Tarts or what?
It's a very good point to make, many players are regular on our server but yet are recruited else where, I make an actie point of trying to recruit anyone playing the server when I get a rare 10 mins to get on, I think we need to try (without being forceful) to encourage as many guests as we can, ask players with unknown tags what they are, in many cases slot of players make there own tag just because everyone else wears one, there the may well mean nothing.
I've tried in the past and it usually doesn't go any further than this bitch stewie thing, if that far. Tried again tonight. Boon seems enthusiastic. Couldn't get a rise out of The Mangler or Skull Crusher, both good players. Got to have something to sell them on if we're going to get them in here. We'll see if Boon follows through.
I keep an eye on Bachus. He seems to be the most promising candidate for a recruit. I asked him about it and invited to visit our forum.

I am guessing that the ()mG.cK person is the same one who emailed me this week asking if I would put a map on the server that he modified (a version of Savage And Son). The map has a .ck added to it so it must be him. That would make me believe that he is still pretty into everything and should be our focus.
A good idea right off the bat is to let people know that it is free to be a member. People in the past have assumed there were dues and backed off because of that.

Two days later and nothing out of Boon, yet seemed so excited when I asked him during a game. I've tried to make clear to others that there's no cost and really not much in the way of an obligation. It's too many negatives trying to sell something on what it's not. We need to sell on what it is. The only one that jumped out at me recently is access to tournaments and such. I think that would be attractive to some. What else?
P.S.: ()mG.cK is cool. He'd be a good addition. I played that reworked Savage map with Rad last night. Pretty top notch.

My goal is Bachus. I talked to him and it seemed to me that he might be interested. I wonder why he has not visited our forum yet?

Typical potential recruit. Still, he plays well.

I am going to hold a DOU Vs. DOU on Sunday, May 28th. BTW, it's my birthday too, so you all better show up.
Anyway, We could invite some people to come play in it with us and see what it's like to be part of DOU. More as it develops but keep it in mind.

Pretty soon we will start recruiting for UT 4, but I'd still like to see a few more UT99 people.
In all the years of DOU, there have been several hundred members. With the exception of 1 quake 2 player, every single other person who has joined DOU has done so to play UT99. We have never had a UT2k4 or COD player apply for membership. The point is, for now anyway, UT99 is our best option for recruits. I do think though that UT4 will bring us a lot of members.
