LOL. Thats too bad he doesn't want to join. He is fun too play against! Tell him since he doesn't want to join to change his tag to <wuss>. Maybe we could still suck him in though. Tim plays a lot, I always see him other places. I believe if he was to join he would be a competitor and a regular.

As for getting more active members maybe once the practice server is back up and regular practices are taking place, such as various skill sessions and team play, the newer recruits that are less confident would have the ability to gain the skills they need to become a competitor and would want to due to not getting their asses waxed every time they jump on the server. I commonly hear "I'm not good enough to compete".If it wasn't for the people who have stopped to take the time to show me how too's in this game I would have given up a while ago. It's the getting better and better each time I play that keeps me going with the game.

But the non-members don't have access to the practice server. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

In the other thread, Tommy posted

What i believe is frustrating most of us active members is that we have a huge roster compared to other clans, but struggle to get enough people for matches. Some weekends we are hard-pressed for 5 people. I for one thing that this really sucks.

Two things come to mind that I wish i knew before joining the clan.
[list]

  • 1. Importance of matches

    2. Focus on sniper vs Uzi

  • The focus on matches came at a surprise to me. During my recruitment period, there was never any emphasis on matches. If I was more aware of this, i could have done a better job of setting expectations. I usually work 50+ hours in a quiet week. More if project due dates are close. Combine that with 3 teen/pre-teen girls active in sports and you'll understand why i'm usually only on in the later evenings.

Joining, I knew DOU was a sniper clan, but i don't think i really understood what it meant until i spent more time with the clan. I don't dislike playing sniper, but it's not my first choice. I'll play sniper when no one is on the uzi server. I've never played on a non-DOU sniper server.

So my vote is for an extended recruitment period. I say keep the {dou-r} for the 3 months months with a vote in TS.

    Cricket,

Just so you know, most of us knew with you, and Bob, the primary interest was Uzi. Since you rarely played sniper, we were not surprised when you didn't ask to play in sniper tournaments

The problem we have with some members is they were recruited from the sniper server, where they played frequently in the beginning, and later came around less and less.

We didn't expect everyone who joined to sign up for Omega, but we were surprised to find we couldn't scrape up a 5 man squad for an FN match once a week.

We were hoping a larger percentage would show an interest, than did.

    You're ace's in my book 8) .
