I am going to start figuring everything out. If someone has a suggestion for something better than Tinies let us know. Maybe I will ask the tinies themselves and see what they come up with?

Guess I just kinda wonder why it was a bad idea before, but now is a good idea ❓ Why the change of heart ❓ I remember b4 there wasnt time or patients to deal with it. It was written off as soon as it was brought up.

Just a couple concerns I would point out.

1. What if things go sour with the kid? Parents aren't always objective about their kid (even though they think they will be while times are good). This could end up with some very hurt feelings and pissed off people leaving the clan.

2. What about cursing and freedom of speech on Vent? Will we have to all become rated G and watch everything we say? Will people start to get offended when the kids hear me blurt out "fuck jesus in the ass" when I get headshotted?

3. While the current kids may be well behaved now, will they always be? Then you get back to point number 1.

Just some food for thought that popped into my head when I first read about this idea. I tend to think the 13+ rule should stay in force, but if everyone is for it, then give it a try, but I think if it doesn't work out, things could get really bad around here.

As for the speech thing, show me a kid that hasn't heard it all before. It's not like when we were kids, they grow up a lot faster now. Also, we will be creating an area in Vent for them

As for the kids getting out of hand, we will discuss this with the parent before hand. I will make sure I am a part of these discussions and let them know that it's nothing personal, but if the kid is ruining it for some 40 odd other people we will take action. TBH though, I think you can tell pretty easily which are the problem children and which won't be.

Of course, if I am wrong and this turns out to be a bad idea, I'll take the blame for it.

Dylan's and Ace's kids have been coming around a lot lately...

How about a Age group under 18 for the DOU-T tag???

I dont think its about being good or not but if there is someone on who has not got the skills to camp then it will ruin it no matter how old the person, it has already been proven with rng's now, how many people have left the server because of one. Now imagine if that was your child doing it and people are leaving because of it. Dont get me wrong I am all for it and Minies is better than Tinies but I think there will have to be a minimum age. We all want the fun for us and our kids but this is a potential DOU Bomb if it is not got right from the start. I cant wait for my son (DarkMaster) to start owning Tommy lol. 😈

Personally, I am against this. If you ever join a bunch of kids playing X-Box Live, you will understand why. The reason that I like this clan is because it is a group of adults that enjoy playing a game. This will add a certain amount of censorship to the group (or it should add that censorship) that I find unappealing. Although I see this as being a good way to keep UT99 going strong, the simple fact of the matter is that this game is almost 10 years old. Will it keep the kids attentions long enough? Do 9 year olds want to camp or do they want to run?

I have no kids so I may be way off on this one, but that is my opinion.

I saw a tag on the server today, dou-m.

I think it was "The One", no "r" after it though.

Did you decide against the "r" for some reason Tommy ?

I figured lower case for recruitment, and uppercase for full mini. This way we will all know they are the mini's.

I don't know if you can really compare the Xbox live to this situation.

Here, the kid's parents must be involved with the clan and the kids, like anyone else here, can be held accountable for their actions. They are made to know that they can lose their priveleges at DOU if they don't abide by the rules. They also become part of this community which, IMO, is something they don't wish to lose either.

So far the kids have been great. The worst thing I see happening is that they might lose interest and drift away but that's another part of being a kid.

Give 'em a chance to change your opinion.
