We are in the process of switching from Ventrilo to Teamspeak 3.
I have already installed the server software and completed a basic configuration. While more configuration will take place over the short term, the server is ready to use and many of us are already doing so. The Ventrilo server has been scaled back and will be removed from service very soon. I am just going to make sure the TS3 server is stable and viable first.
I think most of you will be happy with the new server, as it is very feature-rich compared to Ventrilo, with very good sound quality.
The information to connect to the server is as follows:
Server:173.45.74.2
Port: 9987
Teamspeak download client: http://teamspeak.com/
Please give it a try and let me know how it is working. The switch was necessary and a done deal, so let's try to embrace the change with a positive attitude going into it.

I will try to get the web page and forum updated in the next few days. I am just waiting to make sure nothing unforeseen shows up.

I asume it will also be password protected for members, so there will be no nicklaming?
Allready installed it and will try it out asap.
Good thought Natan

First impressions very positive.

No, it will not be password protected. We want the server to be as friendly to guests as possible. It has always been our policy to welcome our server users into voice chat.
To avoid nick-laming we will simply register our users so we know it is them. We have been doing it this way with Ventrilo for many years now with very few problems. Any problems that do come up will be dealt with on a case by case basis. But really, we should not expect any serious issues.

That's just what I ment. Friendly to guests, but still a registration (done by Darkmatter I presume), for members.
Just as is the case with ventrillo.
I am trying to setup an app on my phone called TS3 watcher but having difficulties. hopefully ill get some help when im using the client on my pc...
No good, TS3 just crashes before ever starting up every time. TS2 that I had for talking to TKK still works fine but won't connect to a TS3 server... 😕

TS3 works different, there are no registrations. Rather, people are lumped into "groups." There are groups for guests, clan members, admins, etc. Each group has a different set of permissions. In the next few days I will be setting the permissions and adding different people to these groups.

This thread is in the members only section of the forum. I guess when everything works according to our needs and satifaction we will put up a thread in the forum for everyone to read?
I've had some questions from guests who asked me how to find the thread about TS3.
I've replied that the thread is in the members only section and that we are in the process of switching from Ventrilo to Teamspeak 3 at the moment, so there will still be some errors to encounter. When we are satisfied with the way it works we will put the thread on the forum for everyone to read.
(Right?).

Looks like the latest version is causing a lot of people with the 32 bit version on XP to crash before it even starts.... Shit.
