I'm not sure how the other admins or members feel about it but I think if we let him keep doing it ( the overtly sexual name thing) someone's going to try to do him one better ( which already happened ) and then someone has to top that, etc.

I don't care for it either but unless it is specifically directed to be offensive to a guest/member or a race/religion it has always been the policy of DOU to be tolerant of a player's name.
And even though I find some names objectionable I believe it is a good policy. I don't think it's a good idea. Once you start, where do you stop? It's not somewhere I would like to go.

Well, that is a good point too Cyg.
I do notice that no-one else besides Memetic likes to push every limit we have and since he's pretty much a staple on our server I guess I expect more from him than I should. Most - well maybe not most, but a large percentage of folks that visit our server are mature enough not to give into the temptation of one-upping him where a name is concerned. But it's the occasional children that we have wreaking havoc on our server that I can see that sort of things getting waaaay out of hand with.

I think if it objectionable at all they should be asked to change it including Mimenic!!!!
I understand we don't want to step on peoples personal freedom but doesn't that go both ways ?
If someone wants to play with a name or symbol that offends another player, or a group of players, isn't that stepping on someone elses freedom to play without feeling harassed ? Where should the line be drawn or should it be drawn at all ?
Just so you know, I could care less myself and am not offended. I'm just trying to figure out pollicy on this sort of thing and think we should all be on the same basic page with this so some disscussion should help.
