I was just reading the forum. I have always read every post, I never even skip one.
Any way, I was reading all the security threads and had this thought that I want to throw out there for consideration.
A lot of these butt heads get warned, warned, warned, kicked. Then they go away for a while only to return and have the same procedure commence again.
I was thinking that may be we should start an automatic ban, 30 day, or permanent, or what ever as long as we have a thread on that person that goes on for two or three months. So if a thread was started last November and we are still talking about and having problems with that person in January. They get it...period. Maybe this will calm things down.
I personally think even two months is a long time, but we have let people get away with too much for way too long in the past and continue to do so.
I think the permanent ban with the possibility to appeal will work fine.
I would even say there's nothing wrong with the procedure as it is.
We just need to act faster when a problem player appears on the server.

Agreed we have always acted way too slow.
That is why I suggest this. Any admin can see that the offender has been doing this for a while. If we had a time policy any admin can put the ban in effect without the usual DOU big to do over it. This way when time is up they are gone and we won't find us talking about the same person six months later.
I was being nice when I suggested 2 or 3 months, I personally feel 30 days would be a bit long to wait.
