Excessive Taunts

Ok, we have a problem with taunts lately from someone close. If anyone wants to know please send me a pm. I will PM Tommy as this is really pissing me off.

I've got a pretty good feeling which person you are refering to Grasshopper. I know that this person is a member of {DOU}.

As for this person and others that uses taunts excessive don't forget we have it included in our rules:

7) Spamming/Taunting - This is where someone continuously displays the same message or they are continuously using their voice menu to be a nuisance. This applies not only during game play but between matches too. Some people say 'nice shot', n1, ty, lol and so forth and there is no problem with this. But hearing 'yeah bitch' or 'lets' get our flag back' over and over is annoying as well as rude to many players. An occasional taunt is fine but don't abuse it please.

The only exception to spamming is when an Admin is issuing a warning for a rule violation.

These are our rules, Learn them, you are responsible for knowing them, especially now that we have made you aware of them. If they don't agree with you there are plenty of other places you can play.

I'm surprised about the turn this topic had taken...

Instead of sending public but cryptic messages..., is preferable to talk directly with our mate... probably he/she can understand, and this post could be avoided...

We must have respect for our fellows.

On the other hand this is not a topic for the security issues area...

Let me make clear that I myself have no problems with this player or his taunts.

I also replied to Grasshopper to send a PM to the person, which he already had done.

I only can imagine that a spread of taunts can be seen as excessive to some of us.

Oh, and I have respect for both of my fellow members...

Perhaps that was me. I've put down some taunts to keyboard buttons. Sometimes by a cause I pressed a button and you could hear them. Sometimes I used them purposely, to express myself. I look on this as an element of great fun.

If anybody was in a huff for that, I'm sorry.

I may turn of those taunts or use them in moderation.

I hate people that have the auto taunt on...

I do want to set one for roger and under attack though, those would be usefull.

I prefer my keybinds that make no sense to anyone but me 😆

Taunts are fun - however when someone is using them specifically to annoy or to just be a general asshole it becomes a problem. There is a definite line and it's not a fine one. If someone is creating havoc on the server for the shear purpose of being an asshole boot em - if someone is just having fun with other players don't take it so seriously. Again - it is not a fine line - it's obvious when a dick is being a dick.

With that being said......

In the future I think if a member has a problem with another member an attempt should be made to make that member aware of the problem. I think our members are all reasonable people but everyone is different. What is too much for some may not be much at all for another.

Let's have faith in our membership process and in the members that pass our vote. Let's give them a chance to correct the problem first by sending them a pm. If that doesn't work you can always take it to the next level.
