I was playing tonight and all of a sudden I was sent back to the UT title screen with the message 'Connection Failed, Rejected from server'. I was confused at first because I hadn't received any kind of notice that I was kicked/banned, but that's what I'm assuming it to be upon asking here and there.

I have a demo of the match 'in question' (again, as of now nothing's really been said at all) and the match prior, both of which I received no warnings whatsoever about mannerisms, rule breaking, or anything. I've read over your rules and reviewed the demo in question trying to garner from it a reason for which I was banned, I wish to go over each of the rules in relation to said match:

Deathmatch on DM-{DMF}DarthThane

1) No running - this is a camping server. It's ok to run to a place to hide. Do not run/trans from one place to another looking for kills, that is freestyle and not allowed here.

My first spawn in the match, I had spawned on the toilet in the bathroom. Seeing as I didn't want to drop down at the risk of both health and being in a poor position, I decide to translocate to the top of the shower. I end up getting a kill or two before being picked off. My first of four deaths that match. Two of my spawns (both in succession) placed me on top of the stereo with the beer bottles. Knowing there is a teleporter below me, I drop down, lose fifty health exactly, and head through the teleporter (in one of these spawns I get a kill before dropping to the teleporter). After going through the teleporter, I get a kill or two and end up being killed by what I'm pretty sure was a picture frame (for which this map is known for I believe). My final spawn in the game, I spawn in the corner with the (what I think is) fish tank. I proceed to the windowsill knowing there is bonus health there, and return to said corner.

2) No revenging - Do not return to where you were just killed to pick up an easy kill. You may revenge from a distance ONLY, Use your scope. If you respawn in the same place you were just killed, move to a new place.

I only died four (I'm pretty sure it was four) times before being kicked/banned from the server. After dying, I didn't seek out any players specifically after I died, and if they happened to die it was simply because they weren't hiding well enough upon me respawning.

I do have a beef with this rule in particular, as I do not see it as very practical or fair for me to run to a new spot on the map just because I happened to spawn in the same place twice. The way I see that is the rules wanting me to actually MOVE somewhere which is a no no in camping. However, this does not mean I go for revenge kills. I'm just saying I'd rather not be moving halfway across the map just because I spawned where I just died. I CAN see however, the no no in dying somewhere that ISN'T near a spawn point, and returning to it from across the map just for a kill. Spawning by a teleporter for example could be something I'd see leeway with. Again, I'm not trying to tell you what your own rules are, I'm just telling you how they sound to an ordinary player.

3) No assaulting - DO not rush another players position to shoot them, kill from a distance. Sometimes you will enter an occupied room accidently and have to fight for your life, we understand this. If you do it over and over, you are assaulting and will be dealt with.

The one time I do run into a player, I back out and don't kill him for a good while (I think I died between then).

4) No spawn killing - everyone has 7 seconds of spawn protection coming in to the game, use it to find a place to hide.

a) DO NOT use spawn time to sneak up behind/beside someone

b) DO NOT shoot at someone while YOU are spawning, you will die.

c) DO NOT shoot at someone else who is spawning, you will die

d) If you are spawning and you enter an occupied area/spot YOU are reponsible to leave and find another spot, NO exceptions

e) If someone who is spawning enters an area you are in THEY must leave. LET THEM! Do not chase after them for an easy frag, let them go.

This is really common sense. Nobody ran up on me, I ran up on nobody, I never spawned on anybody and vice versa. I did notice a player I had just killed spawned in and stared me down, shooting at me after his (or maybe it was before) his protection wore off. I ended up killing him. He had protection and had the ability to use it and get away from me, but he chose to get shot again. I can't see how that is my fault if that were to be used against me. I did shoot at a spawning player once because I couldn't tell he was spawning (he was BARELY transparent on my screen), the first shot hits and I lose 15 health, but the rest connected and killed him, telling me he'd been there for a good time before I'd noticed he was there.

5) No camping in teleporters, elevators, or lifts - Do not even camp near them unless the teleporter, elevator, or lift leads to an area that has no other exit and even then the player is not to be spending the entire time with his crosshairs on the teleporter, elevator, or lift.

Like I said before, I hit the same teleport a few times when spawning near it, but I never watched it and to my knowledge people never came through it (I wasn't staring at it, or never really glanced at it so I would never had known if a player had been in and out).

6) ALWAYS listen to ALL server Admins and speak to them respectfully. Failure to do so will result in being kicked, or even permanently banned from the server.

I think it was Grubb who came in for maybe a minute before my kick/ban. He never said a word to me, and no player had complained about anything I was doing. The only communication was the occasional "good shot" "thank you" game formalities.

7) Spamming/Taunting - This is where someone continuously displays the same message or they are continuously using their voice menu to be a nuisance. This applies not only during game play but between matches too. Some people say 'nice shot', n1, ty, lol and so forth and there is no problem with this. But hearing 'yeah bitch' or 'lets' get our flag back' over and over is annoying as well as rude to many players. An occasional taunt is fine but don't abuse it please.

The only exception to ming is when an Admin is issuing a warning for a rule violation.

These are our rules, Learn them, you are responsible for knowing them, especially now that we have made you aware of them. If they don't agree with you there are plenty of other places you can play.

In my own opinion, radio commands are annoying and distracting, I could honestly care less about them. I have them globally muted and have no hotkeys for them.

No dropping trans to hunt or otherwise get a frag. This has come up many times recently and been the cause of many problems. Players that drop their trans disc to hunt will be kicked. If you want to run a few steps to get some boots or recover some health, fine. If an admin decides you are doing otherwise you will be booted. This is a camping server and we do not want that type of game play here.

I never trans dropped during the game, as I have known for some time that this was a rule I could get in trouble for (an issue which was addressed when I was avoiding the otherwise unavoidable redeemer a long time ago).

Hey, again, I like playing with some of the people on the server who I see occasionally (i.e. Pub), but I understand that a ton of the admins here throw out flags when somebody from [FUN] joins. I've been playing with no problem with DOU members for the past two days now, and nobody has had to tell me the rules or tell me what was what during said two days. I've been back on UT for just about two days now (I just got UT set up on my new laptop again, which I've had for about a week now) and I hardly played on DOU before, so I'm not sure if I'm being banned for poor conduct or just because I'm being lumped in with others who have been an issue in the past. On that topic, I have never instigated fights on your server that involve or mention any [FUN] member and have done my best to be on my bestest good behavior. I hope you have a safe and happy new year, and that we can get this issue resolved maturely and quickly.

I went through the letter with Draco to make sure it was okay to send this (I didn't want any bad blood stirring up over this) and he wanted me to tell you "hello" for him. Also, I can't figure out how to attach files on these forums, but Draco has the demo in question (I'd had him get it from me earlier). I can email it too for review if that's okay. Cheers, bro.

There is no need to send me a demo. Rather than anything you did or did not do, you were banned as a part of a FUN clan ban that is now in effect. Most of your fellow clan members that visit us have repeatedly broken our rules and then disrespected the admins who called them on it. I myself am one of those admins. This has gone on for a couple of years and we are now done.

It surprises me you want to play here in the first place. We play in a very limited movement style with lots of rules. Your clan is used to freestyle and few (if any) rules. We finally had to add a "No Close KIll" mod to try and preserve our way of playing. There are many freestyle servers out there that you and your fellow clan members will find are a better match to your style of play.

I notice how your tone changes the minute you figure out you're not getting what you want. Like I said earlier I can't figure out why you want to play here anyway, I've read some threads in your forum. It appears you don't think much of us so what difference does it make to you?

Fun clan has some very skilled players, of which you are one. I have played against you many times on another server (freestyle) but under another name. We are not interested in proving we are better than anyone, we're not that good and we're ok with that. We play for the fun of it. We keep to ourselves pretty much and play mostly on our own server although a few of us go elsewhere once in a while. if all our traffic went away tomorrow It wouldn't bother me a bit because it's a colossal headache that sucks the fun (no pun intended) out of playing.

Just so you know I, personally, am not banning you. Our clan is and no, proof is not required just a consensus of opinion by our members. It's payed for by the membership so it serves their interests first.

Most of the time someone who is constantly being reported is deseving of what they get. It takes a lot of warnings and posts to get banned from our server under normal circumstances but whatever, you've already made your mind up.

Congrats for reading opinions on youtube that relate to somebody else's games on your server. I simply came to tell you that you all are adults, and based on one user's comment in a thread here I'd have to agree that you all need to lighten up and jump to conclusions that every single person is going to break your rules based on a wholly inaccurate group consensus.

Not one of those guys will ever admit they EVER do anything wrong.

For that matter neither will most of the people we throw off our server. I'm not sure if denial is their only defense or if they actually believe their own bullshit. Everybody's a victem 🙄

This guy thought he was some kinda saint on our server, I wished i could have spectated him a time or two. I have played him elsewhere and he is a hardcore frestyle player. He will go out in the middle of an open floor and flipity-flopity back and forth till he's the last man standing.

He's actually very good at what he does, it just doesn't fit in here. Why he and the rest of them don't understand that is beyond me 😕
