Been playing on your server for a few months now. Good times, not one problem.

Out of the blue, an admin comes on today and starts threatening me because I'm "running around". It was a huge map (Tut's Tomb - which I had never played before and was exploring) with 8 players on there; sit around and you'd never see anyone.

I've been playing on DOU on and off for some time and somebody shows up all of a sudden and threatens me. The warnings were all fast and furious. It had all the hallmarks of some weak-ass on a power trip.

Very lame.

I don't respect lameness, which I think I made clear.

I've been an admin on the Donut servers for years. Well respected by the server owners and the players for one simple reason: I don't show up once every two months and go powertripping. I am a fair admin and, most importantly, consistent. There is virtually always an admin around to keep things in line.

Here's some advice for you: If you want to impose arbitrary rules on your server, then enforce them on a consistent basis. If you can't be there all the time and need more admins, then get some.

The last thing you want is more drive-by-shootings, like the one I experienced today. That kind of arbitrary BS is for the lame servers.

Moon, first, if you are functioning as an admin you should let people know who you are, this is a rule. Also, when something like this happens you need to post about it here in the security forum, that is also a rule.

That being said, you were completely right to kick him. Seriously, this guy is a special kind of asshole. He makes me long for the good old GEOF days. Reading through that text, I think you appeared as a hero to some of the people when you kicked him.

I will respond to this guy tomorrow sometime. He is not going to get the response that he thinks he is going to get however.

Hey JD, good luck with the whole admining of the Donut server thing, too ban nobody has ever heard of it.

I will post my response here after I make it.

Chances are better than not that this guy will get banned before all is said and done.
