I probably spectate more than anyone else. Most of the time it is to keep an eye on problem players but I also check it out when there are alot of names I don't recognize or very full because these kind of situations can get out of hand too.
I'd also like to say that I very seldom run into the problem of not being able to spectate because of the spots already being filled.
If a DOU member needs someone spectated, he or she also could also ask an admin to focus on the problem either by typing a message in game or voicing it in Ventrilo. I'm almost always on in Vent (usually on the sniper channel) and anyone else policing the server should be doing the same thing.
I have no problem with R_Mad spectating except that she doesn't use Ventrilo. But if no admins are around I agree with mAmA that it would be beneficial to know what's going on if more problems come up.
Can we add a spectator spot?
It was also made clear when the server was opened to spectate players that you HAD to be in ventrillo when doing so.....

When I said Evil in my post I meant add me to the list. 😉 Also now that I think about it Oban also. I think he would go on the server restart list too, not sure I'll ask him next time I see him.
When I said that about spectating it was because I was thinking of once when there were cheaters on and the tinies were watching them so no admin could. The one dropped out when asked. Also was thinking of what DM said, the rule about need to be in vent when spectating. It's a good rule, that way everyone playing can know what's going on if there's a aimbotting scumbag on. Also similar to being on vent to admin, so 2 people aren't trying to kick said aimbotter at the same time.

Yup also what happened a few weeks ago we were trying to get info on a player and moon popped in to spectate, we had a hard time trying to tell him to not do anything without tipping the players hand that he was being watched. if moon had logged into vent first we could of just said we were watching "x" player....
