Wait....what is box step? And you kicked someone for cheating without proof?

Before you judge Darkmatter. I was in alot of games with radius. And his skill level was extremely unbelievable. There were alot of players with good credibility complaining about him & leaving the server. I think we should honor the massiss than give a "possible" cheat the benefit. Just my thought. I know there was no proof, but is it worth losing good players that love our server.

Ok your watching a player sit behind well anything on the map step out and kill another player somewhere on the map not just running by him and doing it with incredible precision. players you know can hide and duke it out with the best of them what do you think????????????

This wasnt done on one map either but over the space of about 3 hours on every map i joined.. i only kicked when 4 players complained and 3 had left !

Yeah, I remember getting picked off by him several times and never ever had an inkling where he was. I was getting suspicious but hadn't said anything 'til now.

Everyone who reads this...you have to keep in mind the the server security isn't perfect and there are ways around the safeguards. You can't always get the absolute proof you need but by observation you can figure something is up.

Guys, it is difficult by the description given to figure exactly what you are saying. It may seem plain as day to you, but you were there, I was not.

It seems as though you are saying he was more than likley running some kind of cheat.

This has been the subject of much debate, not only here but many other forums. As quick as there is a way to block the latest cheat, someone finds a way around it. Short story, proof becomes impossible and once their cheat is found out they simply get a newer one.

Not such a bad idea IMO. It keeps the regulars safe and let's the cheaters know to go somewhere else we won't indulge you here.

The problem I see with having to have proof is it's too hard to get and while you are trying everything in the book to find it, you burn a lot of valuable time. I doubt seriously we would start to ban people simply because we lost a map to someone, or even several maps to someone.

It would be a case of the same player winning over and over, making impossible shots and having very few if any deaths. We would then spectate them to see if there was any way to account for this besides a cheat. Having a great spot each time perhaps I don't know, but usually when lots of people are complaining it's because something stinks and everyone knows it.

I don't think we would loose anyone we would want around here and it would keep our regulars from having to find somewhere else to play.

While I realize this is not up to me, this is something I think we should consider.

I want to know what you think, feel free to respond.

IMO all clans should have a zero tolerence with respect to suspected cheaters and I don't mean banning people because you lost a map or two, but when the same person can win almost every map for three hours, hardly ever die, and not be within scope distance of people he is supposedly killing there's something rotten going on.

Why should the many good and honest players who come here for a slice of DOU hospitality ( we have that rep) be made to suffer for a few nimrods

Our desire to be fair is hurting us here more than helping us. How many more people would have actually been banned by now ? ... 3 ? .... 4 tops ?

This sucks because we are getting popular in the UT community. We don't want a bad reputation.

A) If you can't prove they are cheating leave it be till you have proof or can bust them for something else

B) if it looks ridiculous enough, long enough, they're cheating and should be banned

C) fill in the blank with another option.

When I was spectating alot of ppl were camping and the ones that were being accused were RnG'ing. But how do we catch those who run cheats that UTDC misses???

i may be overstepping my boundaries here im not close to being admin matterial yet but i looked over the security posts and darkmatter doesnt have a tendecy of kicking peps and the description i read i believe he made the best jugdement he new to make under the circumstances. i do understand where mama and tommy is coming from totaly but as you'all know (opinions are like asswholes everybody's got one) and i believe he made a good decision
