Well obviously he was using a hook at some point.

It seems everyone that gets caught has trouble admitting to their guilt. He may never use the hook again - but he was using it none-the-less.

I say throw the trash out and leave it out.

I played against this guy the other day before all this came out, and to be honest he was terrible, he got blasted all over the map (bommies) finished last and their was a bot in. Yeah this guy could be playing clever and making out he is rubbish to start with, but ive seen better play out of my 6 year old nephew, Im rather interested as to the outcome of this, i know he has been caught on another server using the vtable hook thing, but is it possible to download a ripped copy that has this installed already?? as many people are just downloading this game via torrents and other means. Basicly what im saying is when i played him he was terrible and in no way was he showing he was using any cheat. although i am fully prepared to stand corrected.

So the thing is - he would have to turn it on to get caught with it.

Perhaps he is so bad that he tried it out to see if it made him better, then realized that he was getting caught with it and banned all over the place.

People either learn from their mistakes or continue to repeat them.

I would stand by the clan in keeping the ban or giving him a chance to play again. Either way I believe that DOU is making a very long time coming and much needed statement with some of these guys in recent days.

Kudos to Natan, Grubb and a few others for their tenacity regarding OUR server.

After reading up about ACE, i now see that it will do something about an active cheat and not one that is switched off so i stand corrected. ban him

I think that Gatecrasher and Loque cannot be put into the same bag.

I recall that case (forgot the name of the map). Gatecrashere froze and I asked him if is he playing. He didn't move, I tried to shoot at him, bullets flew through him. I typed, that he is dropping image probably. After a while, he asked: "Wth, why I can't shoot anybody?"

It could be an accident or conscious attempt of the cheat testing.

Apart from that case I didn't have problems with him. Guy is a nice player.

IMO we should to unban Gatecrasher and keep an eye on him.

Give him one shot to wipe his unreal folder, get a clean copy of the game. Let him play for a day or two under "supervision".... (maybe a hidden Admin). If he messes up.....fry the guy.

I've sent him a mail that he will get an answer on his situation by next week.

Must say that his case has a better scenerio to get unbanned than the one of Loque.

I say screw him, I do not believe this to be a false positive. If he had been kicked by ace for "corrupt memory or file" it would be a different story.

But I don't believe him. just because he sucks does not mean he wasn't attempting to run a cheat. VTable Hook is not an easy cheat to get working, it requires some c++ knowledge to write it into UT files, many who try fail, but ACE still sees it and kicks player.

A failed attempt at cheating is as bad as cheating.

If I'm not mistaken we have banned others for being caught on another server with a cheat. My understanding is we always felt once a cheater always a cheater so we would ban then.

As you all can read on this link I've posted above, his ban has been lifted by the server where he was 'caught with a cheat'.

I see no longer a legitimate reason to keep him banned from our server. He has never been caught cheating on DOU and our ban was based entirely on the information given by SniperXtreme.com
