This is the first incident that I know of so maybe we should wait and see if this behavior continues.

I would like to suggest that sometime in the near future that a message be added to the server that states:

"Being rude to Admins will get you kicked and possibly banned."

or

"DOU has ZERO tolerance for disrespect toward Admins".

Not just Admins but DOU members in general.

I think we need a definition of revenge and spawn killing. Some players may have a different view of what they are.

I have killed players that finished spawning but didn't run and hide.

Is that spawn killing?

I always post a rule to all players that are in the server and not aim it at anyone.

The guilty one usually says, "who?".

I answer, "just reminding everyone of the rules."

I found this to be very effective.

Clan members accuse me of being a pussy, But some the players that

were breaking the rules in the beginning are now recruits.

No offense meant here, but I would have thought that legal since he did not rush your position and assault you in person.

We have been telling people that " ...from a distance is ok." with regards to revenge. I know Tommy has always maintained if you can do it with your scope across the map its ok.

How would flying a deemer at you from a nearby building be different ?

I just want to know for my own experience, I don't want to tell people the wrong information.

Was that actually an illegal revenge kill ?

If they're not going anywhere and staying put after spawning, that is too bad for them. But if they're running to cover and their protection runs out I sometimes let them go. I always let them go if they come into my hiding place under spwan protection and then leave.

Of course there are times when you see someone the instant they come off of spawn and they may appear to just be running somewhere.

IMO, the bottom line is that the spawn protection is only used to get to cover. If you haven't got to where you want to go in that time you are fair game. I do let some people go but that is by no means a rule.

Just to further hijack this thread. I consider someone who is crouching to be in an offensive position. If they are spawning and the protection comes off and they are crouching, then for me, the crouching trumps the spawn protection if they are out in the open. If upright and running, I let them go.

It wasnt a nearby building, it was on the roof of the building I was in and he knew I was there below him. He stated he did it to get rid of my donut. In my opinion it was flat out revenge for shooting him prior. He spawned on the roof above me, grabbed the deemer and went right for me where he knew I was.

Isn"t there a mod we can run so that a player cant kill the person they just killed unless it is from a distance? I have seen it somewhere before.

Will this scare people away?

I think WE need to police our server. There were 2 really good camping clans out there who mod-ed thier servers to the hilt to stop the crap. Sadly both are gone now.

Gave Sue the boot today after witnessing him assualt, and R&G.

Been dealing with this one in the past and there is no reason at all why he shouldn't know what our rules are. He came back in on the next map during a vote and must've seen me in the player list since he didn't stick around.
