I use The Gimp (powerful and free) : http://www.gimp.org/downloads/

But most of time, for drawing and graphic lettering, I use Corel Draw since about 10 years.

To modify pics and chage size or colours or anything, I use ACDsee. It's not free but I think you could find free or shareware versions !

You can try this : http://www.01net.com/telecharger/windows/Multimedia/photo_numerique/fiches/5804.html

I also use some small graphic softwares (even Microfoft Windows Paint !!!!) it depends of what I want to do.

I could do some dark neutral skins like you asked for DOU vs DOU with Paint. I already did and I plan to do this again : results are surprising !

I will be working and learning 3D Studio these days, it may help in modelling (for skinning) and even in mapping works !

Ok, hope we'll find how to do with your Photoshop.

Thank you, I'll get some and try them. I don't want to put alot of time into it though. I want to focus on mapping.
