Server Move

For like the last month or so, the pings on the Sniper server have been horrible, especially in the evenings.

I thought it was my ISP (and they are to a degree guilty too) but it seems as though the server just sucks. At the same time I checked the deemer and q2 servers and was getting a ping in the 80's, then I go to the sniper server and my ping is 150-180. Kinda sucks for broadband.

So here is what I can and will do. I am going to request that the hosting company move us to a different machine. The old machine will persist and then we will have 5 days to decide if the new machine is better. Of course the down side is that we will get a new I.P. But I think the possibility of us all getting much better pings is a benefit that outweights any negative. We will have the full 5 days to announce the ip change on the old server too.

If the new server sucks, i'll tell the data center that and we can try yet another machine, but I think the problem is just the machine we are on so I doubt that will be the case. I actually know of a machine I get a GREAT ping on and I will request that machine, but no guarantees there.

I will keep you guys informed as to what happens...I am going to make the request tonight.
