Server ping

Server has had a high ping lately (was 290 earlier) any idea why it is so high?

Not necessarily the server, could be a congested routher somewhere in the route to host. Is everybody experiencing this?

Was lower about an hour ago. but it has been at the bottom or towards the bottom of my favorites the last week or so.

Server has its own from what I understand. They are normally listed from lowest to highest.

No, no such thing as a server having it's own ping. A ping is an ack and speed test between 2 computers. I used to have ping problems with the sniper server too. It was my ISP's fault.

Why is my ping in the game different then the the ping listed next to the server in the list then?

Lots of reasons. The ping you get while not playing is probably more accurate. BUt pings change all the time, minute to minute, based on network traffic. And if a map is laggy to you, it will pop your ping up too.
