I don't think anyone got offended. I was just pointing out that if they are not from Mexico, chances are that it's probably proper Spanish and not this bastardized form of Spanglish that I grew up with. Have a good one.

I am a minority here in Southern California, surrounded by Mexicans.

This is definately slang here in Southern Cal. Chupa mi velga is another piece of slang they use.

Here, in this point of the world, we do not use mexicans slangs, so when we use "chingar", by example, we are not saying fucking nothing...

It is highly probably that guy simply said do not bother me, in a rude form, and in my opinion, problems caused by one person not should be cause of problems for all a group... that is discrimination.
