I usually, while listening to my music, I choose a song as my favorite for the month and week. Since months are so far apart I thought I'd just just share my songs of the week as they move on by. So I will start posting every Monday my new song.
Here is my first one...
Week: 1
Pale Blue Eyes
Lou Reed / Velvet Underground
Awesome Rev - mind if I play?
I found this disc about two weeks ago and have been listening to it again. Ultra dramatic 80's hair/spandex performance. I used to love these guys and regret never seeing them live..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjQ6no6PUm0
Week: 2
Song: Chinese Democracy
Album: Chinese Democracy
Artist: Guns N' Roses

Great Album from start to finish Rev!
Big GnR fan on the first album, hell, think I was the first guy in town to get the "tape". Remember watching them on the "Head Bangers Ball" on MTV Man, their music went to shit faster when they sobered up 😀

I agree - Appetite was the shit! GNR LIES and all that crap was totally ghey! But you should really give Chinese Democracy more than one listen. I did - simply because of the various musicians that played on the album. Keep in mind too that this isn't really GNR - it's Axle with a load of talented Moterfuckers that took 10 years and .5 Million to produce.

Only heard 2 tracks from their latest. Where can I get more ear candy Oti ❓
Well Bison - I have the whole album on Mp3 if you want it.
Week: 3
Song: Traveling Riverside Blues
Album: BBC Sessions
Artist: Led Zeppelin
I love ya REV - but overplayed and weak. Zeps first three albums were littered with covers - done well I agree but still weak, how about the groundbreaking Misty Mountain, Rain Song or Trampled Under Foot??
Thanks for keeping this going though. It's one of the few threads that I look forward too reading.
I love all zep songs, i have every song they ever made and i have my own personal stash of Bootleg copies from the O2 Arena in London on 2007, and a show in Southampton in 1976. I listen to all of the songs i got of them and to me they are equal. I love the slide in this one (it made me go out and learn to play slide) Plus i love Robert Johnson's blues and have learned about 3 of his songs on guitar. Besides i love every genre of music so i dont expect everyone to have the same opinion.
But, Pearl Jam is coming next Monday!!!
Week: 4
Song: Yellow LedBetter
Album: Jeremy
Artist: Pearl Jam
Yellow BedWetter huh. Not a big PJ fan but can tolerate that one.
LOL - that's funny, Ledbetter is one of my favorite PJ songs. Very reminiscent of Jimmi Hendrix's style if you listen carefully to "Little Wing" and "May This Be Love". I believe the song was actually written and recorded before Ten was, and then slapped on the B-side of Jeremy which was supposed to the Big Hit from Ten. And - only successful (Jeremy) because it was rammed down the throats of the radio listening public. That album had so many more high points than that song. However, I give Ledbetter a big ole Thumbs Up. I also believe that Ledbetter was first played on a Seattle College radio station and then became one of the most nationally requested songs of '93. So it's popularity was almost an accident.
Good One Rev!
Also - from the same year was an album that completely "Outshined" Ten, it had this bad ass song on it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO18jd0bqvM
