You now what - if I had to pick two it would probably be the same. Although Bill Gould does come up for me as well.

Nice post Cyg!

All good examples of different styles of playing, all great players and performers.

This wouldn't be complete without one of my all time favorites. Watch and be awe struck 8)

..... and yes that's actually being played on a bass.

Wow! I fucking love bassists!

Mama, I've never heard that one but pretty damn Impressive!

Pyro - I completely forgot about VW, king of "Slap & Pop". Reminded me to pull up some Flea here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FrI5lNvCnQ too bad the Chili Peppers were apparently castrated sometime in the mid ninties. I used to think Mothers milk was one of the best albums of all time. That girly BS they shove out now is very uninteresting.

When I was just a little snot my mom used to take me to see Mothers Finest play in Peidmont Park in Atlanta where I grew up. Wyzard used to make the place go nuts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou2L3uwOiVs --- - --- wait to about 4:30, fucking insaine!

Infectious Grooves were amazing - saw them once in Athens GA while Stephen Perkins was touring with them. Truly one of the best shows I ever saw! Mike Muir is actually a GA Bulldogs fan which didn't hurt either. Nice one Abberation!

I can't beleive that I missed this thread the first time around. All of you

have great tastes in bassists. Here are mine and a few that are just

obscure and obscene.

You ever wondered what Bruce Lee would look like if he played bass?

Thank you, sir. I've been playing bass for about 23 years and these guys all the way from Les Claypool to Steve Harris to flea and all the guys I've listed were my heroes, Especially Steve Harris. When I was 15, Steve Harris was the greatest thing on earth. The first thing I did was I challenged myself to learn every Iron Maiden sing ever written. At the time Seventh Son of a Seventh Son was their newest release and I learned every song up to that point. I would practice for hours everyday and it took me about a year to do it. I haven't played ever since I got hooked on UT and joined a clan called DOU. Damn DOU!!! Just kidding. I got too OLD!!! Now, high sound pressure levels give me a type of hangover that feels very much like an alcohol induced hangover only worse. It just isn't pleasurable anymore to perform live. Anyways, You guys know anyone that would wanna buy a pair of Hartke 410XL's? Only been gigged with twice and they probably have less than 50 hours play-time in them. Have a good one.
