There is a new movie coming out called serenity. It is based on the failed TV show of about 2 years ago called FireFly. In FireFly, the name of the firefly class ship was named Serenity.
What surprises me is that FireFly only has 15 episodes total. I wonder why someone would make a movie based on a failed tv show, if the show failed why would someone think that the movie would do well? I wonder who decided to front the money for the movie too.
FireFly and it's spin-off movie were created by Josh Weaton, the guy wo did Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Both were very good shows I though. An interesting side note is that Weaton has suggested recently that he is not done with the Angel character so he may show yup again on a new show at some point. I always liked Spike more though. That would be a good show I think, lol.
Anyway, anyone else ever watch FireFly or plan to see Serenity?

I watch nearly all scifi and yes seen firefly and will watch serenity when it comes on tv was talk on another forum that it might just jump straight to tv and not go the usual route
P.S it didnt fail he just had too many other shows to write for buffy and angel being the main 2, it shows in the story lines too as they went down during this time too then he decided to finish buffy and continue with firefly but by then it had been decided by the powers that be that they didnt want to continue with it.
babylon 5 and farscape tried to go the same route make films from the series in a hope to keep them going.

Haven't heard of Firefly or Scerenity. But I like Sci Fi too. I just wish they had not cancelled Jack of All Trades. That show was original and funny. Thought I had finally found a show worth watching. But it didn't last long. It always came on back-to-back Saturday nights along with another show called Cleopatra 2525. Jack of All Trades ruLed. I am planning to see Serenity tonight and I am VERY psyched about this. If I do I will review it when I get home. The reviews are outstanding and the previews look cool. I am sure I will love it just being a fan of the TV show.

Do a google search for "serenity review" to read the reviews. You'll have to search long andhard for a bad review. The movie is being compared to the original Star Wars movie of 30 years ago for the "wow" effect it has on those who go to see it.

P.S. I recommend running out to blockbuster and renting the firefly dvd and catching up before you see the movie if you can. It isn't necessary but it can't hurt.
