For those of you who haven't heard, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin was killed today when a stungray stabbed him in the chest.
I always thought that he would eventually press his luck a bit too far, some of the stuff he did was just too much.
Still a shame though, he was an interesting character.

The part that trips me out is that it wasn't the worlds deadliest snake, but a creature that very rarely ever kills that killed him. My kids are quite upset because they have all grown-up to this point watching him. I'm sure he will be missed.

Here is a short vid of a stingray right at the location (great barrier reef) where he was killed. Quicktime is necessary to view.

Would have been more ironic if a croc had killed him. π
But at least he died doing what he loved and not some lame car wreck or something.
He lived a high risk life but I imagine, even if he had the luxury of hindsight, he wouldn't
have changed a thing.

yes sir, he will surely be missed by the masses.. i have watched him for a long time doing what he enjoys the most.. and i am very suprised that it wasnt a croc that got him.. he did a job that i surely do not have the guts to do...

Down my way we have tons of those things and all they want when they see you is away. It sure is a shame. He was one of a kind.
