Went to a Star watching party in the Thacahachee Strand, south of Everglades City and got to see the sky like I've never seen before.

This one guy had a 10 foot 12inch Dobsonian.

It was so wicked, gonna built my own(not as big) to take camping.

Saw Saturn, Jupiter with 4 of its Moons and Mars.

Orion and the Crab Nebula and many diffrent star clusters.

IT ROCKED!

Anybody else do any star gaze'n?

I have two smaller scopes and do alot of star gazing myself. Always wanted a bigger one but could not afford one.

I would assume that the mirror would be expensive.

Dam nice scopes to snipe !!!

Sky is great and when I consider how small we all are, I feel much more humble. Nothing can look important besides of our universe !

I started sky watching when I was 16 and stopped then but I think it's a thing everyone should do a time in his life.

Things take a better real place then...

Have fun guys !...

I think Jupiter is just a weeeeeee bit out of range.

I want to get into that myself but there's always something else going on.

I did take a camping trip to the UP (Michigan's Upper Peninsula) 7 or 8 years ago. I was on the western shore of Lake Gogebic. Caught several small walleyes and had the pleasure of viewing a spectacular Northern Lights.

Around here, we have the Barlow Planetarium and they give entertaining shows year 'round.

But if you really want to view some cold, dead space, come to Oshkosh and have a look inside upper management's heads where I work.
