A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns he takes the elevator to the seventh floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the tenth floor.
He hates walking so why does he do it?
π‘
It's Tommy, and he does it because his penis is to short to reach the 10th floor button.

Maybe he isnt tall enough to reach the button for the 10th floor and he can only reach till 7? π
I was joking at first, but the more I think about it, it could be a logical explanation... π
Natan is right.
But could have used an umbrella to press the button above.
I know better solution - I would use an x-loc. :trans:
The Elevator only runs to the 7th floor.

How can that be if he lives on the tenth floor, unless 3 floors are beneath ground and the elevator does not go down there.
so far....Grubb's first post is the closest answer to the riddle π
Hey, just a thought. if the guy can reach the 7th floor button, he should also be able to reach the 8th floor button right beside it, and and only have to walk up two flights of stairs to the tenth floor.
and yes he's way to short to reach the nine and 10 floor buttons.
can he not jump to reach the button. Maybe in a wheel chair.

Well he never said that the guy took the elevator from the tenth floor - only that he lived on the tenth floor.
The riddle actually goes blah blah blah.... - "when the sun is out he takes the elevator to the 7th floor" - and then the answer is supposed to be that he is too short to reach the 10th floor button without his umbrella.
Without all the facts the riddle has multiple solutions.
The man is a dwarf, and can only reach the button for 8th floor.
I like Rad's idea....screw the elevator and just use the x-loc
