A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bar tender gets out a shot gun and shoots, just missing the man. The man thanks him and gives him a tip.

Doode had the hiccups. He asked for a glass of water to stop his hiccups but the bartender pointed a gun at the doode, which scared the hiccups away, so doode said thank you and left. Then went back to his apartment building that has an elevator that only goes to the 7th floor.

The man had hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give him a shock. It worked and cured the hiccups - so the man no longer needed the water.
