I remember getting knocked in the cheek the first time I fired a 12 gauge.

I did screw up once when I had left the woods a bit earlier than my brothers after deer hunting on a very cold day. I got between mine and my brothers trucks, swung my 7mm mag off my shoulder. Forgot the safety was off and my numb thumb hooked inside the trigger guard after the barrel swung past my legs. Luckily the muzzle was pointed at the ground about 18 inches ahead of my feet. Made a nice divot in the dirt.

Of course later one of my brothers asked me what I was shooting at...

That was my last family reunion!! That's what happens when you mix guns and alcohol. :eek2:
