hehe.. I haven't heard that one either. Wrestling is an embarrasment. But racing is ok. I sure pick it over wrestling.

My old man used to love watching wrestling and gunsmoke on the tube.

Gunsmoke, I still enjoy when I can find it but the wrestling really ceased to be entertaining to me when it went hollywood, McMahon style. Now it just plain sucks ass.

When I was a kid I loved watching Mad Dog Vachon, Vern Gagne, Scrap-Iron Kadaski, 'Da Crusher, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan (a.k.a. "The Weasel") and many others on the now extinct A.W.A. wrestling show out of the Twin Cities. These guys didn't rely on outrageous costumes, assinine story lines and all the bullcrap glitter that is today's wrestling.

My dad kept watching it though. I think he kept on watching it 'til he died in '98.

I got Ted Dibiasi and Pork Chop Cash's autograph when I was like 8 years old. My grandparents got into it pretty good for a bit. The wrestler's held a 'MS MUD' match to boot...hehe Lots of dirt in this specially built ring... and oh yes, I seen one of those 'Cage" matches where they cant get out. Too funny.

and the Mongolian Twins fought the Junkyard Dog and Pork Chop Cash in the mud.

Does anybody remember Johnny/Jimmy (whats his name)? Hart?dang..cant think of his last name ..but he was that silly manager guy with the cane that everybody hated....hehe ..and he even came out with that dumb ass song "We Hate School"...ROFLMAO

I think the penacle of wrestling as entertainment, for me, was and always will be Andy Kaufman. Now that guy can make me laugh until it hurts. 😆

Heh, heh, heh...Andy Kaufman....he pulled so much shit some people still think he's alive.

As for the others, I recognize a few of the names but I think most whom you mentioned came along after I quit watching.

I went to one match back when I was in highschool. I friend of mine had tickets up close to the ring. I stepped out into the hall for a smoke between some matches outside the locker rooms and here comes this huge, tall dude swinging a massive gym bag in each hand. Walks right by me and says, "How ya doing?"......Hulk Hogan in his early days.

Guess since I went this far, I may as well complete my wrestling adventures. I saw Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert beat the SH*T out of this guy I knew all my life. Jeff was always a rich, big time, popular, *sshole kind of guy growing up.

Well, they had some wrestling in my town one night, which was rare, so I went with a friend. During the whole show, Eddie Gilbert's girlfriend was runnning around the stage, cursing the other team, etc.... and Jeff kept on flirting with her as she came to our side.... well, Jeff had been drinking pretty good, and decided to lift up this girls skirt real high to take a looksie. After, the show, and after most everybody had left the Expo Center and most all had gone home, me and my friend were standing outside when all of a sudden, here comes Jeff, stubbling out of a side door, barely able to stand from being drunk.

All of a sudden, from the other end of the big building, Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and his girlfiend appeared and got into this little 300-ZX. Me and my friend were in the middle of all this.

Well, they all seen each other and then Eddie and his girlfriend did a spinnout in the rocks and drove straight towrd Jeff as if they are gonna run over him. I thought that was it for Jeff.

Instead, Eddie slams the car sideways, throwing rocks all in Jeff's face, then he jumps out of his car, and proceeds to beat the holy sh*t out of this dude in real life. Jeff didn't have a chance. Eddie met him with a huge forearm to the upper body, like you see in the ring, but this was with real force....and it knocked Jeff down.... then, he started kicking him in the side over and over.....

My friend and I could not do anything for Jeff. He done that on his own.

I felt really bad for Jeff tho...hehe...casue he had this blank stare laying on the ground, as they put him on the stretcher..... eyes wide open, blood coming form mouth, nose, etc...

Eddie got him back for sure.... but I bet that Jeff sued the living hell out of him after that. I really see no way around it really. I never heard one way or the other.

BTW, Motley Crue ROcked Sunday night... good show no joke hehe. Will post some pics when I can.

Some of them I'm sure might be too x rated. Wont post the real good ones I guess..hehe
