Can't connect to new server

Ever since the switch to the new server, I can't connect. It's as if the server is completely offline. A traceroute confirms this. I think my IP range may be blocked. I can see the server from work (different IP) so I'm pretty sure it's my home IP that is causing probs. Any ideas why this may be the case?

Yup, you are blackholed alright.

There is someone who lives near you that we needed to get rid of in a permanent way, so I did an ip range ban on his ass. It was quite effective.

That of course leaves you in a bad way.

I knew this was eventually going to happen so it is not all bad. I figured I would have to learn what to do when this happens. So please be patient while I contact someone who knows a lot more than I do about all of this. I am pretty sure there is a solution to all of this.

I will most likely have to take this topic to private pm's since I doubt you want your ip posted here.

Just do an accept for his IP in the ban section. As long as he is on a static IP that should clear it up for him.

In the [Engine.GameInfo] section

IPPolicies[2]=ACCEPT,111.111.111.111

If you are using Hostname ban. (Using info from a known cheater),

In the [HostnameBan.HBConfigUT] section.

HostnamePolicies[52]=ACCEPT,cpe-24-162-153-170.hot.res.rr.com

Actually, I am banning right at the router firewall. A very good and permanent solution. 🙂

That explains why he can't see the server at all. You got me beat there. I would imagine that there is

tutorials available at xlhost explaining how to admin the firewall assuming you are renting one of the active

firewall ports.
