Seriously, I have heard that the female skin was more difficult to hit due to it being smaller. I DO think that it is more difficult to see because of this reason and therefore have no problem playing a female skin...

Keep in mind that I don't know squat about the internals of UT, but I thought the target area was the same for every avatar (or whatever they're called). The skin just decorates the target.
Yup, they are called "hit boxes" and they are the same. On some of the very small skins you will actually have to shoot above their head to get a headshot.
