Saudade in Portuguese, or sodade in Cesaria Evora's Cape Verdean Creole, is a word to describe an unrequited longing, or yearning for things that will never be or that can never be again...
nostalgia.
I love such a kind of music, and Cesaria Evora is one of my favourite singers. It is sad that she passed away a few years ago.
Sodade conveys my feelings, especially when I'm flashing back

Saudade. Nostalgia.
As Cesaria Evora song, sea separates me from an entire life, friends and loves, not knowing if I will see them again someday....
I miss my motherland...
and I often wish to return
But then will happen to my children the same thing happened to me: they will be uprooted from their land
I will do the sacrifice and the world will stay in peace.
