No playtime for me this week.

I have finally made it all the way to middle management at work. I now have to take a class to help prepare me for my new position. Guess what... i have homework.

I am afraid that my play time this week will be short or not at all. I apologise for this, and fully expect that my membership to the clan be delayed for one week.

Sorry folks, but if I do not get paid, I do not get to play. Priorities, you know.

See you all in the arena soon.

Work should only be something you do as a hobby when you have free time. 😉

Actually, I am learning quite a bit from this class. In it's simplest form, work is what we make it. I am going to spend a great deal of my life at work. I would rather it be a fun place to be rather than a place where I have to be 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I will do what I can to make it a fun place to be for myself and my team mates. I will try anyways.

Now let us see if we can turn this negative energy into something positive.

Thank you very much, Plumber.

Today was a FULL day of learning about harassment, focusing on sexual harassment...

This is a tough subject. It left me feeling VERY disturbed.

I also may have made a mistake in class with one of the company's high level H.R. folks (who was teaching the class). In a discussion about what should we do if we were attacked by a team member, the rest of the class was saying the politically correct "Just walk away" or "Defend yourself as best you can."

I said that if anyone hit me, I would pick up something and bash them in the head.

THE ENTIRE CLASS LET OUT A BIG SURPRISED GASP!

I stuck by my guns. It may not be what they wanted to hear, but it was the truth.

I am interested to see if I still have my job tomorrow.

Also, just to let you folks know, I work for a LARGE Fortune 50 company. Not 500... Top 50. This is being held at the corperate office. Word travels fast.

Lol, nope, self-employed 🙂 Just making sure you aren't out on the road shooting people. Guess someone needs to watch the news 🙂

No joke, I was the victim of sexual harrassment years ago. I had a female boss who wanted it in the worst way. She actually was very attractive too, but forgetting about anything else, I worked with her husband. Tommy don't play that way. I said something, and then nothing came of it. A few months later I came into work 5 minutes late and was fired, lol. Had a good attendance record too, they just needed an excuse.

The moral of the story, not only women can be victims of sexual harrassment.

I took one of those "ethics" tests years back when applying for a job. I knew what they wanted to hear, but I had a stick up my arse at the time, and said on the test that I would not turn in a starving man who stole a pack of boloney. During the interview phase it was brought up, I was frowned upon, and not hired, lol.
