Queensland, Australia floods

Gidday folks, I thought I would share this story as it has it my heart. The amount of rain we are having is something that I have never ever seen in my entire life. Yesterday a town west of Brisbane 2310 feet above sea level had a sunami like amount of water race down the main street killing a mother and child and a shit load of people are missing ( people stuck on there 2 story houses as the water was up to there gutters). The runoff of water has wiped out 2 towns and will go through our major citys river which has just broken its banks and might exceed the worst flood back in 1893. Today our rescue people lost a 4 year old boy from the rescue boat ( as you can immagine the water must have been rough ). And maybe the worst is yet to come as more rain is on its way ( maybe 4 more weeks worth ). Oh and most of yesterdays damage the people had no warnings as mother nature has duped them all.

Disasters happen all around the world and you never think that 1 might hit your back yard, IT DOES!

A big lesson learnt from this is listen to all emergency warnings and if asked to leave your premises, then please leave ASAP.

Grasshopper. πŸ™

Sorry to hear of your area's grave misfortune Grasshoper. Mother nature is a difficult lady at times. We've gotten a lot of rain in my area of late but nothing like what you are talking about.

I hope you and your family are safe, my sympathies to those not so fortunate.

I usually catch a BBC broadcast on the way to work each morning and they've been talking about the floods almost every day. I hope this gets over with soon.

saw this on the news the last days. Immediately my thoughts where with you Grass. Heard you say on vent it wasn't near you, but the water has its own will. Take care of yourself and family GH.

In the Netherlands we're living 5 meter / 16.4 ft. below sea level and we know the force of water. We're in combat with it since ages.
