We had to put our white boxer down on Friday 😥 Wasn't even 5 years old yet. Took him to the vet bout a month and a half to 2 months ago because he had a weird caugh and eventually started coughing up white foamy shit with blood in it. They took xrays and his right lung was white and cloudy looking. Thought it could have been cancer. They sent in blood work and it came back negative. They did a chest tap and sent in more samples to see if he had blastmytosis (spelling?) Came back negative. So they assumed Pneumonia. Gave medication and a week and a half or so it wasn't getting better so we took him back for more xray. You guessed it, was getting worse. Vet had no idea what it was and we were not going to make him suffer any more. We already had over $1200 stuck into tests that told us nothing. The vet offered to do an autopsy on him at no charge because she waned to know what it was. We did too so we oked it. Within a week and a half of his last xray and deciding we were going to put him down he had formed a lump on his left hip. After we had taken him in to put him to sleep we showed the vet his lump and she said she would sample that as well. To make a long story short, she called up later Friday night and said that the ubstance in his lungs was like a hard hollow shell with a jelly inside and the lump on his side was the same thing. She said she would call it cancer! She said she sent in samples of it and will let us know. We are pissed! How could they have missed that before!? We would not have spent the extra $ and made him suffer that long if we knew t was cancer. Anyway, I know hes just a dog but he was part of our family and like one of our kids. He will be missed. Rest in piece buddy 😥

Thanks all. It is better then it was Friday but it still sucks. Our femal brindle in the first picture seems o be having a rough time of it to. She knows something isn't right. She keeps looking for him and seems to be mopeing around too. She has never been alone. She grew up with a Mastiff before we adopted her and her foster parents had 2 or 3 boxers. It will get better. He is in a better place and isn't suffering any more.

Sorry for your loss. Take her out to a nice park for some play time. It will help all of you.

Condolences Bison.

Most dogs are more loyal and better company than 90% of the people I meet.

I understand.

Very sorry to hear Bison, I know exactly how you feel. Give some extra lovin to your other dog , She will need it as from experience it takes a while before they come out of the funk of being alone. 😥
