As a Soldier and, like Nuker, a student of history, your Grandfather lived during a time of great change and an intense military campaign. May your grandfather's life and service not be forgotten. Many people find it easy to disregard the sacrifices these men made, and how they bled for our respective countries.

It's not the years in a life but the life in the years that counts.
In your grandfathers case it sounds like he had both and the rest of us should be so lucky.
