I am a bit confused though.
the article states that
"The subjects ranged in age from 19 to 90"
What 90-year-olds are playing video games?

Actually, in the clan I was in before I started DOU, there was spomeone in his late 70's. Probably around 80 now. He is in QwazyWabbit's clan so if he see's this he can tell us if he is still around. His name was Tyranic Nasty or something like that.

Exactly, I thought that too.
Plus, the games may not be causing the weight and depression problems, it may be the other way around. Weigh too much? Sitting around playing video games instead of being out for a walk? No shit!
I play video games...not overweight, in pretty good shape actually. as a matter of fact I had to get medical help to gain weight as I looked like they crypt keeper for awhile there. Consider what has happened to me over the last year and a half. Now considered, would anybody call me "depressed?" [As a side note, it is fucking amazing that I am not.]
If you read the article again you will notice that they did not use proper scientific methodology. Properly, one develops a theory or hypothesis and then sets out to prove it wrong until it cannot be proven wrong, then you have a finding. You never set out to prove it right, it is too easy to do so and come to a false conclusion.
Pop psychology, gotta love it. π
