Aside from the shooter myself and my wife know everyone in this article. It hit especially hard with my wife as she knew all the boys from school. Charles she had in her 6 grade special ed class last year. They all had forms of mental retardation. Which most speculate as being from the murdering son of a bitch beating the piss out of their mom. The 4th victim was the shooters brother who also had a mental handicap. He was a nice guy who came into the library where my wife works in the summer every day.
I really doubt there are any hardened criminals in our jail but if there is I just hope they treat it like a child molestation and beat the mother fucker to death. I just cant fathom someone doing that to children let alone special children. I was at the vigil and I couldn't hold back the tears listening to people talking so fondly of these boys. You always hear of special children being bullied and shunned in movies and tv but the kids who went to school with these boys seamed to genuinely love them. The two oldest boys had recently been involved in the Special Olympics.

Also this article says Wyo averages 11 murders a year. My small town has now had 5 in less than a month.

It's very, very sad that kids have to pay the price when a parent can't handle life. If things are that bad a person should have the decency to put themselves out of their misery and leave the innocents alone.

I had an uncle with Downs and he was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. Pretty much any kid with a mental handicap you meet will always been a sweet and loving person. 😥

The link didn't work for me. I googled Wheatland Wyoming Murders. There were only a couple of places to see the story. None of them mentioned the boys were menatally handicapped which I thought was odd.
No matter how bad things in my life have been I have never thought about hurting my son, not once. If that guy wants to cash in his chips that's his right but to take the lives of his boys.... I hope a special hell awaits him.

Don't know what to say Abbe other than pointing out that I'm sick to my stomach now.
Wife and I went to the funeral yesterday. God that was hard to be at. They played a 30 minute video of all the boys that just made everyone cry.
The press was asked to stay clear of the funeral. Most took pictures from across the street and the KTWO channel guys out of Casper had the good graces to actually say thanks for your time and leave. But there was a douche bag from the associated press that snuck his way in.
In an update to the story they have taken the piece of shit to have a psych evaluation. He had one last month and was declared normal. The fact that he shot each boy in the foot. Then the shoulder. And then the head. And told the police that he did it because he "wanted to make them suffer". Well to me that says he knew what he was doing and had it all planned out. He should get the death penalty but they will try to say he is insane.
Makes me sick. Those boys and their uncle were pretty amazing for the hand that they were given.
Actually I kinda hope he doesn't get the death pealty. I hope he gets life in with the general prison population. They'll make him suffer before he's done. I understand those who murder or molest kids get to watch their backs forever in the slammer.
Either is good for me but I have a sick feeling he will get to spend a few years in a loony bin and then go free
