UT 99 Vid-Graphics help

Someone mentioned on how to get the OpenGL Drivers installed on their computer but really it's just a matter of switching the way UT uses the video card...

If you are having trouble using UT99 with your computer and your video seems crappy...

Here you can see the video preferences TAB menu in UT99

Just click on the CHANGE button...

Notice the "Show all devices" option.

Here you can see a list of options that UT99 can give you.

List of options include:

3DFX Glide For Windows - Not recommended unless you are using a 3DFXGLIDE VIDEO CARD

Direct3D SUPPORT - For those who fancy Microsofts Graphics

OpenGL Support - Loads much faster than Direct3D if you have a nice video card that works great. OpenGL is not exactly a seperate driver but it usually is included with the video driver and game software.

S3 MeTaL for Windows - S3 hardware such as an On-Board video usually uses this... if your video is on-board this might do the trick!

Software Rendering - Verry CPU intensive mostly if you want to run your game online but more or less a last resort if you cannot use anything else.

Between the ATI and the NVidia based Video cards, you should not have any trouble running UT99. But if your just running the On-Board video that shares your system RAM, your gonna have problems from day one when you like your games.

Here's what video I'm running in my system...

----------------------------------------------------------------

Graphics Card Manufacturer - VisionTek Radeon X1300

Bus Type - AGP 8X

Memory Size - 512 MB

Core Clock in MHz - 446 MHz

Memory Clock in MHz - 266 MHz

Memory Type - DDR2 (Dual Channel RAMDAC 533 Mhz total)

It is an OEM version of ATI but I got it at a great price!

I run UT99 in OpenGL and it Screams on my system!

The answer that you seek:

Also, if you have the Game of the Year version of UT, then install the second disks Enhanced Textures and use the ST3 option (I think it is ST3, can anyone confirm?). Either way, the game looks and plays better.

I tried it but I'm not too sure what to look for in the game...

But I've noticed the TEXTURE more but I don't know if that is default or not...

Did I miss anything in the INI???

I want to get the full use out of my 512 MEG Vid card...
