No, it is a symbol used by the divine order, ruled by "his divine shadow."
It is from [first] a series of movies and [second] a TV show, called Lexx.
His divine shadow was the essence of the last insect from the great insect / human war. He was just 1, so knowing that he would never be able to defeat the humans, he passed on his essence from human to human for thousands of years in the attempt to pit human against human. He figured if he couldn't defeat the humans, he'd get them to destroy each other. As for-told by a prophet, his divine shadow would kill off all of the bruninge. It was however also for-told that the last of the bruninge (Kai) would kill his divine shadow. A paradox? Hmmm... 🙂
For those of you who have only seen the TV show which was a bit campy, I recommend renting the movies. Of the 4, the first (called "I Worship His Divine Shadow") was by far the best. The 4th movie (Giga Shadow) was the 2nd best.
