The best thing to do imo is to just continue hanging around, interact with the other clan members and maybe after a year or so reapply for membership. Yes, you can reapply 6 months after you quit but you're going to take longer convincing some of the others. You can also be sure there will be some who will not change their opinion of you no matter what you do.
So just hang around and back up your words with actions and it'll be cool.
