Double edge sword. Yes it will run on Windows 7 BUT you may not be able to connect to any server using UTDC.

Just had that expeience with a new member. Got booted off the server each time he joined. He ended up putting the game on an older box he had using a different OS.

I upgraded from 64 bit Vista to Win 7 (64 bit) and could not get past the UTDC. I don't think that it has to do with 64 bit since I'm back to running 64 bit Vista and it works fine as long as I "Run as Administrator". That mess kept me out of commission for about 2-3 weeks. Got some good advice from a few members and the common demoninator was "back your files up first!" Glad I did.

In general UTDC is not compatible with Windows 7 (no matter the flavor). Until the coders that made UTDC work on a new version, those with the OS will not have any luck playing on those protected servers. There are some servers that do not run UTDC and many have had success connecting to them with Windows 7.

Yes it does. I believe they got the last version of UTDC straight for Vista 64, but Windows7 64 bit will not run

on UTDC of any kind. Windows7 32 bit has rendering issues in UT99 but there is a fix and it will run on UTDC.

Have a good one.

I'm gonna test this. If true, then I want Windows 7 for Christmas πŸ˜€

Using the release candidate now.

*EDIT* Just tried it on Windows 7 RC 64 bit. UTDC crash. Maybe it is okay for 32 bit, but 64 is still incompatible.

hmmm, maybe if you try compatibility mode with windows xp sp3 , right click on exe file, then select compatibility, i tested again on 7 32 Bits, 64 bits is not an option for me, my processor does not support it :smash: :smash: :smash:
