The past night I invited Rad to join the clan. I believe he is a very good camper and a very respectful person, and most of us probably feels good playing with him. He told me he is 52 y.o. and he believes he is too old and unskilled to join the clan. Obviously I said him that's not true and I sent him this PM that I copied and pasted from our first page:
"Joining Clan DOU is a fairly simple procedure. Your age, race, gender, political and religious background, and social status are not taken into consideration with the exception of being 13 years of age or older. Since we are a clan set up mostly for gaming fun and social interaction, your skill level is not considered either (although the better players will be the ones defending the clan when playing other clans). What is taken into consideration is how well you may benefit the clan. The good news is that you can greatly benefit the clan just by being a good member. Of course having skills and abilities that would enhance the clan doesn't hurt, but nothing is required to join the clan"
On the other hand, and not related with my invitation, you must know RAD is from Poland, and yesterday in a plane crash, the Polish president, his wife an about a hundred of ministers and other authorities from Poland died. I gave him my condolences.
RAD is an ok guy. I've aked him to join our clan too in the past. He said he would think about it. He's a good and well respected player and many of our clan enjoy to play with him.
His age is no problem at all, maybe he doesn't know how old the most of us are... There are a lot of 30's and 40's among us. 52 is on the young fifty side 🙂
I think he would be more than welcome to join the clan.

The plane chrash is a real tragic thing. 96 people were killed in the accident including the president Lech Kaczynski and his wife. Further including several deputy ministers, two vice chairmen of the House of Commons, the president of the Central Bank and members of the military leadership. There will be a week of national mourning in Poland.
I would be the 3rd person to encourage him to join. I enjoy playing on the server with him simply because he follows the rules and is very personable as well.
As far as his concern with his age or even skill level, this does not bother me whatsoever.
I believe we should encourage people like this to join as a few of us have tried to do.
I'm curious to see if anyone in DOU has had any bad experiences with him but I would guess that the odds are against that.
Perhaps R Mad, as I believe that she probably speaks with him the most, can relay any comments she sees here on this thread to him to possibly encourage him pending any red flags by others.
I've posted him a PM to encourage him.

I spend a lot of time playing with Rad here lately.He always follows the rules and respects everyone else that plays.I believe he would be a great candidate for recruitment.

It would be great for Rad to join our happy family, I too asked him to get involved a long time ago and am more than happy with Rad joining us as he does respect the rules very much indeed. Age is not a problem at all.
