This may be the wrong section of the forums to post this on, but I am generally not real big on posting things on the internet. In any event, I would like to once again be welcome visitor on {DOU}'s UT99 server. I recently reached out to Cyg and I appreciate his responses.
Just a little background...it took me nearly a month to figure out that I had actually been banned. It looks like I was able to continue playing because the screen name changes on my machine periodically because I let my 2 kids play UT99 on my PC. I "try" to make sure that they do not do so under my name and I don't always remember to change the screen back right away. Additionally, for purposes completely unrelated to UT99, I do not use a static IP address and change it often, which probably also lengthed the amount of time it took me to discover my ban.
When I did actually discover that I was "banned," I made multiple attempts to register an account on the forum which appeared to be denied; however, I now see that the confirmation emails may have been caught in my junk mail. That made it impossible to even state a case so I continued to play and express my concerns to certain players via in-game chat. I would list out all of the names for you, but every one of the admins seems to know me.
Therefore, I am clearly guiltly of continuing to play on the server, but I beg to differ with many of the posted assessments of my play. Like virtually everyone else that plays on the server, my play has not yet reached 100% compliance with the rules. In fact, I wasn't even aware of the rule that I violated when you initial banned me for a map. However, based on the many hours of play I have put in on your server, I feel that I am one of the more rule compliant players on the server. I am sorry people certain people are pissed off, but honestly a good bit of that results from differences in skill level and experience.
Anyway, I would very much appreciate having my playing status restored and a discontinuance of the regular PMs and chat posting calling me a cheater.

Hi Happy_Camper. It’s good to see you finaly posted here on the forum.
The technical rule infraction which you are referring to isn’t the only thing that got you banned. It really takes a long, long time before our clan decides to ban someone. You always seem to view incidents that take place differently all the time. There have really been loads of complaints about you, before you were banned.
As speaking for myself. I know I had some arguments with you in the past, but you could never reply in a normal way when I called you on breaking a rule. It always ended out in arguments from your point of view. Everyone, including myself accidently break a rule sometimes. Admiting it and saying sorry is the least thing to do. You can't allways be right.
Playing that many hours on our server doesn’t automatically makes you one of the more rule compliant players on the server as stated by you. I am for one someone who sometimes really got pissed off by your type of game play and it has nothing to do with skill and experience. It all has to do with BEHAVIOUR!
To be frankly I am not waiting for your return on the server. There are plenty other servers where you can play your type of game play.

You have had MORE than enough chances. Saying that you are still learning the rules after as many hours as you have logged is asinine
Your repeated attempts at returning durning your ban don't show any respect in my opinion. If you would have honored the ban you could have came back and pleaded your case. I'm not so sure you will be to welcome by too many anymore.
As you can see by the member posts you haven't made a lot of friends here. Most of this has to do with your attitude more than your style of game play. We are old school campers and so that is the style of play that is acceptable here. No one here makes any claim to perfection, everyone slips now and then in the heat of the moment, but you are another case altogether. You have been warned over and over for violating our server rules and nearly everytime you have denied any wrong doing. Even your post here is full of denial and lacks humility. This is our server and here we make the rules. We don't have many other places we can go to play our game type so most of us just play here.If you like to play a very aggressive style of camping I don't have a problem with it but you can't do that on our server. There are plenty of servers you can go to where the players are "experienced" like you and play like you. I'm sure some of the attraction for you in comming here in the first place is that people who are camped and not moving much make easy targets for frag hunters like yourself. You don't come here looking for someone to challenge you, you come here because you like to dominate. Why don't you find a place to play where there are less rules and restrictions and players who can provide more of a challenge to someone of your experience and skill.

Not to mention you are banned as of now yet you still keep coming to the server. What exactly are we supposed to take from that? Definitely not that you want to be unbanned... 🙄
So ..... in the middle of asking us for another chance you continue to ignore the ban you are aware of and play on the server?

Do you think that shows respect for us ? How do you think we might interpret that ?
If you think that because your ip changes we can't block your access to the server you are wrong.

Anyways, good rule of thumb in the future , for whatever server you play at is to check their forums if your not sure of the rules. Then you should have no problems unless you decide to not follow them and end up being where your at now with DOU. Doesnt seem to be hard to figure out IMO .
