Some basics about me....
My name is Rob and I live in Sydney Australia. Believe it or not, I'm 50 - which proves that men never really grow up! I have two teenaged kids (both girls) who have no interest in online gaming whatsoever.
I've been messing about with computers for 2 decades but really only got into gaming in the last few months when I bought the Unreal Anthology on an impulse at Christmas time. Only been online gaming since December 2007. Mainly on local (Australian) servers which don't allow camping. I got tired of running around like a headless chicken blasting away at people who had aim-bots (which I don't have), so began playing in sniper mode when no-one else was on the server (just bots to shoot at). Decided it was for me... so went looking to see if there were any camping servers.
I came across DOU completely by accident about a month ago (typed in 'Unreal Camping' on a Google search and there you were). I very much enjoy the place although I have to admit my average ping sometimes drives me nuts. I like that the place runs on a level playing field with no aim-bots and other little helpers. Skill and reflexes count (which explains why I suck so badly). I also like that a lot of the players take the time to explain things - including sharing some of the best spots. I enjoy it so much that this is now the only server I play on and I'm here every day (work and/or parenting commitments permitting of course).
If nothing else, you should get excited when I arrive because you just know your 'gimme' frag rate is going to soar! Until I get a lot better, you'll all reap the benefits ! LOL

Before I join in on this... just how scared should I be of Tommy?? I had a great line to add to the emerging "X = Good, Y = Gay" theme, but I don't want to get banned before I even settle into the comfy chair.... 🙄
Of course, not that there's anything wrong with being gay... not that I am. I'll still shoot you Tommy... (on the server of course) I'll shoot anyone regardless of race, color, creed or sexual orientation. Anything for a cheap frag! 😯

Welcome to our servers and forums! I hate that your ping is really high, but we have people from all over the world play on our servers, so maybe we can help get yours to a manageable level.

I think I'm the only Australian who doesn't drink. Never got started, too old to bother starting.
I suffer from the delusion that I'm funny and spend far too much time typing quick one-liners... and getting shot in the process. I'll either have to learn to type faster, or duck.
