Update from Astro re : Recruit period : Refer post of 05/15

Greetings all. My thanks to Cygnus for sponsoring me and to Tommy for setting up the account. Some basics about me.... My name is Rob and I live in Sydney Australia. Believe it or not, I'm 50 - which proves that men never really grow up! I have two teenaged kids (both girls) who have no interest in online gaming whatsoever. I've been messing about with computers for 2 decades but really only got into gaming in the last few months when I bought the Unreal Anthology on an impulse at Christmas time. Only been online gaming since December 2007. Mainly on local (Australian) servers which don't allow camping. I got tired of running around like a headless chicken blasting away at people who had aim-bots (which I don't have), so began playing in sniper mode when no-one else was on the server (just bots to shoot at). Decided it was for me... so went looking to see if there were any camping servers. I came across DOU completely by accident about a month ago (typed in 'Unreal Camping' on a Google search and there you were). I very much enjoy the place although I have to admit my average ping sometimes drives me nuts. I like that the place runs on a level playing field with no aim-bots and other little helpers. Skill and reflexes count (which explains why I suck so badly). I also like that a lot of the players take the time to explain things - including sharing some of the best spots. I enjoy it so much that this is now the only server I play on and I'm here every day (work and/or parenting commitments permitting of course). If nothing else, you should get excited when I arrive because you just know your 'gimme' frag rate is going to soar! Until I get a lot better, you'll all reap the benefits ! Hey Astro,

This is too weird. I am 50, have 2 girls with no interest in online gaming, drive a Saab. I think the only difference between us is the crouch button.

You have such great posture when you play. How do you do that? My parents have been telling me to stand up straight for years, just not in UT.

Wave... yes, thats spooky... but ....judging by your avatar there are a number of differences between us. Firstly, you have more hair. Secondly you have great... errr... outstanding features. Thirdly, you're blue. Lastly, my upright posture comes from being shot in the ass too often. I'm starting to think some of these guys don't come here for the hunting... if you get my drift.

I hate the idea of getting back on topic by talking about you but ...

What is the charachter you are using for an avatar from ?

Reminds me of a statue that used to be out front of "Bobs Big Boy" resturants here in the states.

Mama... I know that increasing other peoples frag rates gives them pleasure... so I'm obviously going to be giving joy to my fellow members for some time to come... LOL.
