Moon - is Peugeot reliable?

Moon, When I get to Europe this fall I'm going to buy a cheap used car to drive around (cheaper than renting) and just store it at my house when I'm not there. I want something small and fuel efficient since gas is much more expensive there. There are many little used Peugeot cars for sale so I wonder if they are reliable, particularly late 80's models.
